Practice: Derek Ko's practice concentrates on technology licensing, intellectual property, corporate and securities laws, and U.S. export control matters.

Experience: Derek is a former Certified Public Accountant who advises clients in a wide range of commercial transactions. He has experience drafting and negotiating manufacturing and supply agreements, licensing and technology transfer agreements, development agreements, marketing agreements, product distribution agreements, strategic alliances, joint ventures, and other domestic and international technology and intellectual property transactions. Derek has substantial experience in counseling e-commerce, semiconductor, electronics, computer hardware and software companies. Derek also represents public and private clients in equity and debt financings, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance.

Education: University of Washington (B.A. 1987, Accounting, Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa Honor, Beta Gamma Sigma); University of Washington School of Law (J.D. 1997, with honors, Moot Court Honor Board, Pacific Rim Law & Policy Journal).
