Practice: Larry Locker is an accomplished AV-rated trial lawyer and counselor assisting a wide range of clients in business disputes, including insurance coverage and intellectual property matters.

Experience: With more than 20 years of experience, Larry has routinely counseled clients in all aspects of the litigation process and has successfully argued and tried cases in numerous courts in Washington and other jurisdictions. Larry has also successfully represented clients in many arbitrations and other alternative dispute resolution proceedings.

Larry’s successes include representation of a software company in a major antitrust action involving complex intellectual property and software licensing issues, which resulted in a multi-hundred million dollar settlement (Caldera, Inc. v. Microsoft, Inc.). In addition, Larry has obtained favorable results in patent infringement, trade secret, antispamming, insurance coverage and tort defense matters. Larry has also successfully litigated numerous real estate disputes.

Prior to joining Summit Law Group as a partner in 1999, Larry managed a private practice (Law Offices of Lawrence Locker), and also worked as a litigation attorney at Mudge Rose Guthrie Alexander & Ferdon, and Shidler McBroom and Gates (now part of K&L Gates).

  • Intalco Aluminum Company v. Central National Insurance Co., et al. Currently representing manufacturing corporation in multi-ten million dollar case seeking reimbursement for environmental cleanup costs under insurance policies issued to the corporation.

  • Obtained for corporation client, in a pending case, an order granting preliminary injunction against former chief executive officer and majority shareholder, prohibiting him from representing to corporation’s customers and others that he holds ownership rights in the company’s patented intellectual property.

  • Successfully defended corporation in multi-million dollar claim alleging unlawful spamming and unauthorized access to internet service provider’s servers.

  • Defended corporate officer and director in lawsuit by investor seeking more than $1 million dollars. Successfully settled for a small fraction of the claim.

  • Prevailed as counsel for defendant estate in action brought by plaintiff claiming one-half interest in defendant’s real property, plus attorneys’ fees and right to occupancy. Successfully removed plaintiff from the property before trial and settled during trial for a small fraction of the claim.

  • Negotiated successful resolution for plaintiff client in an arbitration proceeding involving trade secrets and breach of software license claims, including recovery of attorney’s fees.

  • Represented polymer plastics manufacturing corporation in prosecution of two patent infringement cases with antitrust counterclaims. Obtained favorable stipulated judgments and dismissal of both counterclaims.
