AI in the Washington Public Sector Workplace – From Caution to Compliance

Drawing on preliminary statewide guidance from WaTech and the AI Task Force, international standards, and best practices from the IAPP AI Governance Professional program, this webinar will focus on how agencies without approved AI tools can safely begin adopting interim guidelines for AI use and building a policy approach consistent with Washington law and technical best practices. Agencies with existing AI tools and policies will gain insight on how to further evaluate and strengthen their policies and processes using recognized AI governance best practices. Specific topics will include:

  • Assessing risk and readiness
  • Issuing employee guidelines
  • Developing AI governance best practices
  • Adopting compliant and sustainable policies
  • Maintaining compliance: training, auditing, and accountability
