Tech Trans Legal Assistant

THE OPPORTUNITY

Summit Law Group is seeking a Legal Assistant to join our expanding Tech Transactions practice group. The ideal candidate would like to grow in their knowledge and skills over time to scale up to a contract manager position. POSITION SUMMARY

Our Tech Trans group prides itself on its cooperative, hands-on nature and needs a talented colleague who enjoys consistent, on-site support and interaction to join the team. This position is unique and new. Our goal over time is to train this position up to support the team and our clients as a contract manager. The attorneys in this group are predominantly on-site and thrive with in person interactions. All of our staff here at Summit efficiently deliver proactive support to their attorneys, practice groups, and firm. They are masters of task and project coordination, excellent communicators, uphold confidentiality, and keep their attorneys on course.

The successful applicant will have a minimum of 2 years of legal assistant experience, ideally in transactional law, though we’re happy to train the ideal candidate, if needed. This position handles traditional legal assistant responsibilities with an interest and eagerness on growing and developing the position into a contract manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Draft, edit, compare, proofread, and finalize correspondence, reports, and transactional documents
  • Proactively track and organize transaction deadlines through completion
  • Maintenance of files, internal templates, and client guidelines
  • Create and maintain internal process guides
  • Drive process improvement initiatives
  • Learn and utilize multiple different client proprietary technology tools
  • Communicate and develop relationships with clients to build trust and accountability
  • Ensure team compliance with client, jurisdictional, and firm requirements
  • Standard legal assistant support including admin support of client files, opening/closing matters, cost reimbursements, calendaring, and communicating with clients and internal Summit teams

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Eager to learn and grow in their careers, and the drive to make it happen
  • 2+ years of legal assistant experience; legal assistant experience preferred, preferably in transactional law
  • Outstanding document processing abilities in MS Word, including styles, breaks, and tables
  • Tech-savvy and proficient in the MS Suite, Adobe, DocuSign, SmartSheet, Zoom, NetDocs, and redlining, with the ability to easily learn and utilize new technology
  • Extremely organized and passionate about project organization and development
  • Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills
  • Commitment to meeting deadlines, follow-through, and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills, particularly in accountability, teamwork, and mutual respect
  • A “run to the fire” approach, including a positive “can-do” attitude, anticipating needs, providing quick responses, and handling short turnaround times

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Summit strives for competitive compensation and benefit packages. We offer health, dental, vision, life, and long-term disability insurances, with family plans available. Our Employee Assistance Program provides short-term support for mental health services, financial planning, and legal aid. 401K options include Roth and traditional accounts, with matching, profit sharing, and immediate vesting. Summit also offers quarterly and annual bonuses based on firm performance, commuter benefits, and ten paid holidays. This position is primarily onsite and has opportunities for a hybrid schedule. Ideal candidates will prefer an in-office schedule.

While subject to change, we also provide firm-funded HSA accounts, offices for all on-site staff and a dog friendly firm. Salary for this position ranges from $65-90k, depending on experience.
