Human Resources Specialist

Summit Law Group is seeking a Human Resource Specialist candidate to join our team of highly efficient and effective attorneys and staff.  Candidates that share our values of customer service, integrity, mutual respect, and high expectations of themselves and their teammates are encouraged to apply. 

Essential Duties

  • Onboarding and orientation of new employees
  • Process semi-monthly payroll through our online payroll provider
  • Administration of employee benefits
  • Administering and enforcing human resources policies, procedures, laws and standards
  • Recruiting – Under the direction of the Executive Director
    • Assist in writing of job posts / job descriptions
    • Coordinating job posts
    • Working with recruiters
    • Collect, review and forward resumes to appropriate departments
    • Performing reference checks
    • Coordinating interviews
    • Tracking resumes and candidate correspondence per firm standards and applicable laws
  • Coordinate training efforts with management and practice groups
  • Assist in employee evaluation process
  • Assist with processing employee grievances
  • Oversee engagement programs and other employee relations work

Skills and Qualifications

  • Understanding of current federal, state and local HR laws, regulations and standards
  • Confidentiality and discretion are a must
  • Highly effective and consistent communicator
  • Ability to interact professionally and effectively with attorneys, staff and all levels of firm personnel
  • Skills to build relationships personally and amongst others
  • Strategic thinker who can anticipate problems and develop possible solutions
  • Excellent verbal, written, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate ongoing attention to detail, responsiveness and accountability
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
