To celebrate Summit's 11th year of participation in Food Frenzy, we have signed on as a Gold Sponsor and set our fundraising goal at $11,000! Why? Because this is important.
During the school year, families can count on free or reduced-priced lunches for their children, but summer means having to stretch even farther to put food on the table. For the 350,000 kids in Western Washington who rely on free or reduced lunches, summer can be a difficult time. Only 11% of these kids are accessing a similar meal in the summer.
With your support, Food Lifeline is changing that. Food programs, such as Kids Café, provide healthy snacks and meals to summer programs where kids live, learn and play. Also, many additional families turn to food banks in order to put food on the table during the summer.
