Summit partners Dan Swedlow and Sofia Mabee will be giving separate presentations at two upcoming labor & employment events:

AWC Member Expo-October 26-28, 2016

Dan will be presenting "Drug Testing: Don't Drink (or Toke) & Drive - Drug Testing, Model Policies and Bargaining Implications" at the Association of Washington Cities' Member Expo taking place in Chelan. Dan's session will highlight the importance of adopting clear policies and educating employees on legal (and illegal) substance use. The Expo will also provide other educational sessions to help attendees extract the greatest value from AWC services and programs, and provide an update on rates, trends, loss prevention, and new laws and other legal opinions.  

WAPELRA 2016 Winter Training-November 15, 2016

Sofia will be presenting "The Do's and Don'ts of Conducting Performance Evaluations" at the Washington Public Employer Labor Relations Association's 2016 Winter Training seminar in Tukwila, Washington. Sofia's session will discuss preparing and delivering performance evaluations, challenges faced by new supervisors, how to manage employee reactions to negative feedback, and legal issues regarding evaluating employee attendance.
