Summit defends First Amendment challenge by Uber and Instacart in the Ninth Circuit

In December, Summit lawyers successfully represented the City of Seattle in defeating a First Amendment challenge by Uber and Instacart to the City's Ordinance protecting gig workers from unwarranted deactivations by the companies. On July 10, 2025, Summit member Jessica Goldman  argued to the Ninth Circuit that they too should reject Uber and Instacart's claims. The Court of Appeals' decision is expected later this year.
